Triton DTS Spinal Decompression

Gentle, targeted traction to relieve pressure and help discs heal

What is Triton DTS?

Triton DTS is a computerized spinal decompression/traction system. It applies a precise, gentle pull to your neck or lower back to reduce pressure on spinal discs and nerves, promote fluid exchange, and relax surrounding muscles. Because it’s computer-controlled, the force can ramp up and down smoothly and be tailored to your exact needs.

How it works

  • You’re comfortably secured on a padded table (face up or face down).

  • The unit delivers controlled traction in cycles—gently stretching, then relaxing.

  • This rhythmic unloading can help create negative pressure inside the disc, encouraging nutrient flow and easing pressure on irritated nerves.

  • Sessions typically last 12–20 minutes, and many patients find them relaxing.

Why we use it at Quest Chiropractic

  • Pairs with adjustments: Decompression helps your spine accept and hold chiropractic adjustments by calming muscle guarding and reducing irritation.

  • Precise + repeatable: The computer control lets us dial in your settings and reproduce them visit to visit.

  • Gentle option: Great for patients who need a low-force approach or aren’t ready for more active care on day one.

  • Supports healing habits: When combined with your personalized plan—mobilization, laser, muscle therapy, and home exercises—DTS can help you move more comfortably between visits.

Who might benefit

  • Disc bulges/herniations (cervical or lumbar)

  • Sciatica or nerve irritation

  • Chronic neck or low-back pain with stiffness

  • Degenerative disc disease or facet joint irritation

  • Postural compression from prolonged sitting

We’ll always perform an exam (and X-rays if needed) to determine if decompression is appropriate for you.

What a session feels like

  • Time: ~12–20 minutes

  • Sensation: A gentle, gradual stretch that cycles on and off

  • Clothing: Comfortable, non-restrictive clothing

  • After: You may feel looser, lighter, and sometimes mildly sore (like after a good stretch). We’ll give you simple post-care tips.

Safety & when we avoid traction

We screen for conditions where traction isn’t appropriate (e.g., recent fractures, spinal instability, certain advanced osteoporosis cases, active infection, abdominal aneurysm, pregnancy for lumbar settings, or post-surgical restrictions). If decompression isn’t a match, we’ll recommend other therapies to get you relief safely.

How Triton DTS fits into your plan

  • Evaluate: Consultation, exam, and imaging if needed

  • Plan: A personalized mix of adjustments, Triton DTS, therapeutic laser, and muscle therapy

  • Progress: Re-checks to track mobility, strength, and symptom changes

  • Stabilize: Add targeted exercises to help you hold results longer

FAQs

Will one session fix it?
Most disc and nerve issues need a series of visits. You’ll know early if it’s helping based on comfort and mobility.

Does it replace adjustments?
No—think of DTS as a teammate to your adjustments and rehab, not a stand-alone cure.

Is it the same as inversion?
No. Triton DTS uses controlled, programmable traction in specific angles and forces. It’s much more targeted than general bodyweight inversion.
